All Inclusive Vacation Packages: Two Important Tips

All inclusive vacation packages can be a great way to travel, and more and more people are going with a package these days because of all the benefits of a travel plan that covers everything with one fee.  One of the biggest benefits is eliminating the need for the consumer to plan all the details of an upcoming vacation, which, even in the age of the internet, can be quite a frustrating and time consuming undertaking.  Plus, in most cases, you’ll save quite a bit of money over trying to book everything yourself.  But not all of these package are created equal.  Here are two tips on how to choose one.

First, never buy a package offered in an unsolicited phone call.  These are often outright scams, and the person on the other end is working in a so called boiler room.  Their only goal is to get you to send them money with your credit card, and they’ll say anything they think will get you to do that.  Of course, once you discover you’ve been ripped off, they’ll have moved on, and getting your money back can be difficult.  The ones that aren’t pure frauds usually don’t come anywhere near living up to the promises made on the phone.  Always go with a trusted travel agent or other reputable travel company.  You won’t be sorry, and the “deal” you supposedly missed out on by saying no to the telemarketers was almost certainly a ripoff of some sort.

Second, even when dealing with a trustworthy agent or other travel provider, make sure you go over all the details with a fine toothed comb.  Don’t ignore any correspondence from them, whether by email or snail mail, as these may contain important information you’ll need for your trip.  Double check dates, itineraries, scheduled activities, needed sightseeing transportation, etc.  Find out how many meals are covered, and whether gratuities are included.  If you don’t, you could easily find yourself short of money long before your trip is over.

All inclusive vacation packages are terrific options, and by choosing the right one you can assure yourself of a hassle free vacation.  Just make sure you go with a reputable company, and double check everything before starting your trip.
